A Welcome Message to New and Prospective Members from NAMI President and CEO Julie Anna Potts

The North American Meat Institute (NAMI) is a membership association that represents all sectors of the meat and poultry industry – packers, processors, suppliers and allied companies up and down the food value chain – from large, multi-national companies to small, family-owned businesses. NAMI is member driven and consumer focused and is supported by a staff of 40 professionals.

In prioritizing core values like stewardship, community and collaboration, NAMI creates an environment that allows our members' businesses to succeed and the animal Ag industry as a whole to progress forward.

NAMI advises, informs, encourages and supports our members and the industry at large, along with regulators, suppliers, customers and partners every single day. NAMI is the only organization offering such broad and effective representation of the North American animal protein industry. In 2021, the Meat Institute and its partners introduced The Protein PACT: For the People, Animals and Climate of Tomorrow, the largest-ever effort to strengthen animal protein's contributions to healthy people, healthy animals, healthy communities and a healthy environment. The Meat Institute and its members are actively working toward this goal by establishing transparent benchmarks for continuous improvement, setting ambitious targets for progress to align with global goals and committing to communicate our efforts proactively and transparently.

In 2022, member companies participated, representing 90 percent of the industry's volume. By showcasing members' continuous improvement efforts in focus areas like Animal Welfare, Environment, Food Safety, Health & Wellness, and Worker Safety, we are able to help you address what your customers are asking for, in addition to providing exclusive insights to participating companies. NAMI offers a wide selection of open committees to allow our members to exchange ideas, engage in focused content and recommend NAMI policies that impact their operations. Each committee has a unique focus area, including: Labor and Employment; Animal Welfare; Communication and Marketing; Cybersecurity; Food Safety; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Environmental Policy; and more.

NAMI firmly believes that we succeed when you succeed.
